RICHMOND, April 28, 2021 – Chevron Lummus Global (CLG), NAPCON, and the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) proudly announce the successful completion of the LC-FINING high-fidelity Operator Training Simulator (OTS) at Bapco’s Oil and Gas Academy in Awali, Kingdom of Bahrain. Managed by Bapco and CLG, the LC-FINING Center of Excellence focuses on training operators and engineers in a distraction-free environment through interactive plant operation scenarios.
The heart of the Center of Excellence is the high-fidelity Operator Training Simulator (OTS) provided by NAPCON. Development of this LC-FINING simulator began in 2019 with the development teams working hand in hand across three continents. This ultra-modern learning technology includes unique features for accurate and true-to-life simulations of Ebullated Bed Reactor thermodynamics and hydrodynamics, the complete catalyst management system, and the back-end fractionation section of a unit, all in one connected and dynamic platform.
The LC-FINING OTS completion celebration was attended by the project development engineers and members of Bapco’s Board of Directors. All of CLG’s LC-FINING and LC-MAX technology licensees, current or potential, are now warmly invited to visit the LC-FINING Center of Excellence in Bahrain to take part in this state-of-the-art training technology. In addition to the LC-FINING OTS, BAPCO and CLG have developed and compiled an extensive library of training videos, courses, and resources crafted by our hydrocracking technology experts.
